Global Gaming Awards 2016 and Microgaming

Publishing: September 28, 2016

The Global Gaming Awards is an annual event which generally takes place in Las Vegas at the Venetian Ballroom which can be located at the Venetian Palazzo Congress Center. This year’s ceremony took place on September 26th and it was presided over by a panel of 60 expert judges from various major fields in both the digital and land-based gaming industry.

This prestigious awards ceremony celebrates triumphs from the past year in both of these industries and altogether there were 12 individual awards. For an unprecedented third year running, Microgaming picked up the Digital Product of the Year Award. Microgaming received this award for its non-downloadable, multi-operator platform, Quickfire.

“This win highlights the incredible progress of Quickfire since launching in 2010. The platform has emerged as the product of choice for operators who require immediate access to the best online gaming content from Microgaming and select development partners,” said the Director of Quickfire, Andrew Clucas.

He then finished by saying, “It’s great to see the industry celebrate the content, flexibility and innovation of Quickfire.” In 2015 Microgaming won this same award for the Jurassic Park online pokie. This game was the first of its kind to use Parallax Scrolling effects and it is now widely available across multiple platforms (Flash, download, mobile and Quickfire) in the real money mode or in the free play mode at all of our top-rated Australian gambling sites.

Let’s take a quick look at some of the other awards and winners from this year. MGM Resorts International won the Land-Based Operator award.
